Questions, answered
How does Parkena work?
Enter your airport and the times you drop the car off and pick it up, and we ask every listed car park to price that exact stay. Pick a result, book it, and drive straight there on the day. A car park only reaches that list after somebody at Parkena has read what the operator submitted and approved it.
Why is it cheaper than parking at the terminal?
Off-airport car parks have lower overheads than the terminal’s own and they compete with each other for your booking, which is usually what makes them cheaper. Parkena publishes no typical saving, because the only number that applies to your trip is the one your own dates produce — compare the totals and see what the difference is for your stay.
How and when do I pay?
By card, when you book. Parkena takes the payment and charges you nothing extra for it — no booking fee, and nothing added to the operator’s own total — so the figure you agree to here is the figure your card is charged for.
How is the length of my stay calculated?
In parking days, counted from the moment you drop the car off. A started day is a charged day: exactly 24 hours is one day, and 24 hours and one minute is two. That is why we ask for times as well as dates.
How do I get from the lot to the terminal?
It depends on the lot you choose. Some run their own shuttle, some sit on a tram, bus or train line, some are a short walk from departures, and valet lots take the car from you at the door. Each listing tells you before you book whether you keep your keys or hand them over; how you get to the terminal comes with the operator’s arrival instructions on your confirmation.
Can I cancel or change my booking?
Cancel, yes, any time before check-in. Go to parkena.com/booking with your reference and the email address you booked with: it shows the booking and lets you cancel it there. Cancelling inside the free-cancellation window refunds the total minus a processing fee; cancelling after it keeps the total instead, exactly as not arriving at all would. Changing a booking is different — for that, contact the operator with your reference, since they hold it. Every listing shows its free-cancellation window before you book.
Are the car parks secure?
Each listing shows exactly what the operator has confirmed — cameras, fencing, automated gates, plate recognition, indoor bays. We show what is confirmed and stay silent about what is not, rather than filling the gaps. What we have not done is visit the site or audit anything: this is the operator’s own description of their car park, read by a person here before it was published.
When do I get my confirmation?
Immediately, on screen. The reference appears on the confirmation step as soon as the booking is written. There is no confirmation email, so write the reference down: with it and the email address you booked with, you can look the booking up at parkena.com/booking at any time.
